But right now,
I’m content to bask
in the sun and glory
of the world
that is my own.
Adaptation is key in human evolution and we as humans have biological plasticity, or an ability to adapt biologically to our environment. An adaptation is any variation that can increase one’s biological fitness in a specific environment; more simply it is the successful interaction of a population with its environment. Adaptations may be biological or cultural in nature and depending on the severity and duration of stressors in the environment, different types of adaptation is often activated.

living in the present is intimately connected to our happiness and we are all present from time to time. But the ability to summon this state of mind—and staying in it for lengths of time—takes practice because by default the mind wanders, It revisits the past, It explores and plans for the future. The mind also narrates the present moment and tries to make sense of it. To achieve the small, simple things in your daily routine isn’t that simple anymore now that we’re forced to adapt to a constant change in a concept of living that was never understandable or even existed before. Perspectives and interpretation of things that matter such as culture, family and time are altered altogether. To enjoy the space between where you’ve been and where you are going—the now, the present, hier—is what one needs to learn in order to adapt.

Born out of and elaborated from the idea of being in the present, Hier is a realisation of multi-layered interpretation in the perceiving concept behind the meaning of the word itself. To explore the mind when it’s quiet, known as the gap of "no-mind" in the mental stream. To be able to take ourselves to a world beyond thoughts, a world of experience by looking inward, feeling the stillness and peace inside you. It is the space where our lives unfold. as past and future are essentially fictions—just constructions of the mind and it truly is all there is. There’s a reason why they call it “The Present”—because it’s a gift.

Collection Hier will be available August 9, 2021 at 9AM AWST.
