Alba Batik Camp Shirt | Quell
- SIZE & FIT
Definitely one not to be missed, this Alba Batik Camp Shirt is an exclusive, fresh addition to our limited epicene batik collection – Hier.
Intricately hand-painted using the Indonesian ancient technique of wax-resist by our batik maestro, Mas Ta together with his collective in Central Java, each shirt is only produced one in each motif, leaving a soft, sleek texture of raw cotton yarns. Delicate yet versatile, this hand-dyed batik shirt will show stronger hues as time goes, just like all of our naturally dyed products are.
Due to the nature of our batik technique, each piece is unique and no carbon copy ever exists. Hence a slight variation in colours and textures are to be appreciated as it should not be viewed as faulty.
Unlike the classic cut, our Alba is a straight-cut, camp collared shirt equipped with contrasting colour buttons, side vents and a chest pocket. This shirt fits true to size with an intentionally longer body length to compliment the vintage oversized cut and handloomed from 100% pure unbleached Lorek cotton which resulted in a breathable, soft and crinkle feel of linen. Please refer to our sizing & measurements or contact us if you have any questions about the sizing of this product.
This shirt is uniquely hand-dyed using a combination of Indigofera Tinctoria leaves and crystal salts as mordants for the saturated play of hues. Our plant-based natural dyes are colorfast. however, due to the lack of dyeing chemicals, small color runs or slight fading may appear where the natural mordant may not have taken to the fabric.
