The slip sits light. Fluid through the body, with a waist that shapes without constraining — the kind of dress you reach for on warm mornings and don't think about again until you're already out the door. 

Each one is hand-painted in South Yogyakarta using batik tulis, the oldest wax-resist technique in Indonesia, where every line and crackle is drawn by hand. No two are the same.

Designed with a relaxed, fluid fit, our Batik Slip Dresses feature an elasticated back and gently shaped silhouette for ease and movement. Size down if you prefer a closer fit.

  • Created in South Yogyakarta using batik tulis, the oldest Indonesian wax-resist technique, where patterns are drawn entirely by hand with a canting and built through layered waxing and dyeing
  • Each garment is produced individually, resulting in unique markings, crackle, and dye lines that reflect the handmade process while maintaining consistent quality and wearability

COLOUR & NATURAL DYEING

  • This piece is naturally dyed using Indigofera Tinctoria
  • These plant-based dyes create soft, muted tones that reflect nature rather than uniform colour
  • Due to the hand-dyeing process and seasonal factors such as sun, rainfall, and water minerals, colour variation is expected and celebrated — each piece is one of a kind. Learn more about our natural dyes →

Care Instructions
  • Cold, hand wash using mild detergent e.g wool/baby detergent (avoid citrus-based products)
  • for convenience: gentle cold machine wash
  • Do not rub or wring. Air dry flat or hang in shade
  • Warm iron if desired
  • No dry cleaning is neccesary – harsh chemicals may damage natural fibers, dyes, and the environment


Our plant-based natural dyes are colorfast. However, no dyeing chemicals means small color runs / slight fading may appear where the natural mordant has not taken to the fabric. Refer to our care for more info.

Styling Notes

Wear on its own for warm days, or layer with a lightweight shirt, knit, or jacket as the seasons shift. The relaxed silhouette and subtle waist shaping make it easy to dress up or down — styled simply with sandals for everyday wear, or paired with closed shoes and layers for travel and cooler evenings.
